Ellingson moved and Gustafson seconded that the following resolution be adopted:

RESOLUTION 00-176

RESOLUTION APPROVING EMPLOYEE HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFIT

BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Ortonville, Minnesota as follows:

    1. That the City shall cease providing group health insurance for its employees.
    2. That the City shall provide a monthly benefit of $275 per month per full time employee for the purchase of individual health insurance and/or other health benefits.
    3. Employees may elect to take said benefit as cash pursuant to IRS requirements provided employee provides proof of health insurance coverage.
    4. Aforementioned benefit change to become effective January 1, 2001.

Upon roll call vote the following voted aye: Ellingson, Oakes, Reinke, Gustafson, and the following voted nay: none.

Resolution 00-176 passed this 21st day of November 2000.
