MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

OF THE ORTONVILLE CITY COUNCIL

COUNTY OF BIG STONE, STATE OF MINNESOTA

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2003 5:30 P.M.

CITY OFFICE

 

CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:

Mayor Dinnel called the reconvened December 1, 2003 regular meeting of the Ortonville City Council back into session at 5:30 P.M.  Roll call was taken with the following being present:  Mike Dorry, Dan Oakes, Artie Arndt, Lisa Berkner with the following absent:  Lenore Sellin, Mel Reinke.  City Staff Present: Char Grossman.  Media Present:  Kris Goehring Street.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Mayor Dinnel reported to the Council, that the EDA at their December 3rd meeting

agreed to acquire the two tax forfeited properties in the Cashtown Area.  Oakes

moved and Arndt seconded and the motion passed unanimously if the EDA is unable to

purchase this property due to State of Minnesota regulations then the City would purchase

for the EDA.

 

Draft letters regarding the budget cuts were reviewed.  Council members are in agreement that the letter should go out, with or without an enclosed survey.  Mayor Dinnel will incorporate the ideas from the meeting into a mailing for the citizens of Ortonville.

 

NEW BUSINESS: 

Volunteers are interested in painting the entire downstairs area of the city rest rooms on

Main Street.   In the 2004 Budget there is $300 in repairs and maintenance that could be

used to purchase the paint. Oakes moved and Dorry seconded and the motion passed

unanimously to purchase paint for the painting of the rest room by the volunteers.

 

ADJOURNMENT:

There being no further business to come before the Council, Dorry moved the adjournment of the meeting and with no objections thereto, Dinnel adjourned the December 1, 2003 regular meeting of the Ortonville City Council at 6:35 P.M.
