MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE ORTONVILLE CITY COUNCIL
COUNTY OF BIG STONE, STATE OF MINNESOTA
MONDAY, FEBRURY 2, 2004 12:00 NOON
COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:
Mayor Dinnel called the reconvened
January 26, 2004 regular meeting of the Ortonville City Council back into
session at 12:00 Noon. Roll call was taken with the following being
present: Mel Reinke, Lenore Sellin, Dan Oakes, Artie Arndt with the
following absent: Lisa Berkner, Mike Dorry. City Staff Present: Char
Grossman. Media present: None. Others Present: None.
The council again discussed proposed
budget cuts. Areas that were discussed are the senior center, tourism
expenses, public library, MRES contract and other misc. expenses.
The revenue side of the budget was
discussed.
A motion was offered by Dinnel and
seconded by Oakes and passed unanimously to increase garbage rates by
$1.00 a month for all residential garbage customers.
A motion was offered by Reinke and
seconded by Arndt and passed unanimously to begin the garbage rate
increase effective on the March 1, 2004 billings.
Arndt moved and Dinnel seconded that
the following resolution be adopted:
RESOLUTION 04-007
BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that
the balance of the State of Minnesota share of the costs per Agreement No.
80260-TH 7 in the amount of $284,925.87 be transferred to the Rita Road
Project.
Upon roll call vote the following voted aye: Dinnel, Arndt,
Sellin, abstaining: Oakes and the following voted nay: Reinke.
Resolution 04-007 passed this 2nd
day of February 2004.

Several revenue line items were
discussed and proposed budget cuts were debated.
There being no further business to
come before the Council, Arndt moved the
adjournment of the meeting and with no objections thereto, Dinnel
adjourned the January 26, 2004 regular meeting of the Ortonville City
Council at 3:15 on February 2, 2004.
