MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING

OF THE ORTONVILLE CITY COUNCIL

COUNTY OF BIG STONE, STATE OF MINNESOTA

MONDAY, MARCH 26, 2007 5:00 P.M.

CITY OFFICE

CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:

Mayor Johnson called the reconvened March 19, 2007 regular meeting of the Ortonville City Council back into session at 5:00 P.M.  Roll call was taken with the following being present:  Mike Dorry, John Cunningham, Bob Meyer, Nick Anderson, Dan Oakes, Artie Arndt with the following absent: None.  City Staff Present: Char Grossman, Tim Scherer, Deb Hicks, Wade Swezey, Nick Golden, Travis Strasser, Judy Roberts, Debbie Ellingson, Kent Novak.  Others present:  None.  Media present:  Julie Gruber.

City Council members and Greg LaFond discussed the future of Ortonville and the direction that they want to go.  Topics of discussion were:  jobs, health care, economic development, housing, tourism, police, lakefront and infrastructure.

Greg LaFond left the meeting at 5:45.

Discussion continued on the employment package that will be offered to LaFond.  Johnson moved and Anderson seconded that the following resolution be adopted:

RESOLUTION 07-030

RESOLUTION OFFERING EMPLOYMENT PACKAGE TO CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR APPLICANT

BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Ortonville, Minnesota, offer Greg LaFond the following employment package:

            Relocation Expense – up to $7,500

            3 weeks of Vacation

            1 day per month Sick Leave

            Group Dental Insurance

            Group Double Indemnity Term Life Insurance Policy

            $468.00 payment toward Health Insurance

Upon roll call vote the following voted aye:  Arndt, Oakes, Cunningham, Johnson, Anderson, and the following voted nay: Dorry, Meyer.

Resolution 07-030 passed this 26^th day of March 2007.

ADJOURNMENT:

There being no further business to come before the Council, Cunningham moved and Oakes

seconded and the motion passed unanimously for the adjournment of the meeting and with no objections thereto, Johnson adjourned the March 19, 2007 meeting of the Ortonville City Council at 6:00 P.M.
