MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING

OF THE ORTONVILLE CITY COUNCIL

COUNTY OF BIG STONE, STATE OF MINNESOTA

TUESDAY, APRIL 10, 2007 5:00 P.M.

CITY OFFICE

 

CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL:

Mayor Johnson called the special meeting of the Ortonville City Council to order at 5:00 P.M.  Roll call was taken with the following being present:  Nick Anderson, Artie Arndt, Bob Meyer, John Cunningham  and Dan Oakes.  The following were absent:  Mike Dorry.

City Staff Present:  Judy Roberts, Deb Hicks, Deb Ellingson, Tim Scherer and Nick Golden.  Others present:  Joan Hasslen and Craig Randleman.  Media Present:  None.

 

Discussion was held regarding David Lang’s response to the City’s offer for the position of City Clerk/Administrator.

Johnson moved and  Anderson seconded that the following resolution be adopted:

 

RESOLUTION 07-033

RESOLUTION HIRING DAVID A. LANG CLERK-ADMINISTRATOR

 

 

BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Ortonville, Minnesota, hereby hires David A. Lang as Clerk-Administrator for the City of  Ortonville at the city’s wage program Grade 10, Step 5, with the following provisions:

Moving & Relocation Allowance not to exceed $5,500.00

(with receipts for such).

Credited for 3 years employment.

Ten (10) days credited to both sick leave and vacation

City Clerk’s dues , subscriptions and schooling

                         Insurance as provided to full time City Employees

                        * Reimbursement will be made to the City for moving and relocation

                         expenses and any used vacation and sick leave if Lang leaves City

                         Employment within 6 months

 

Upon roll call vote the following voted aye:  Anderson, Arndt, Meyer, Cunningham, Johnson, and the following voted nay:  Oakes.

 

Resolution 07-033 passed this 10th day of April 2007.

 ADJOURNMENT:           

There being no further business to come before the Council, Meyer moved and Anderson seconded and the motion passed unanimously for the adjournment of the meeting and with no objections thereto, Johnson adjourned the April 10th, 2007 meeting of the Ortonville City Council at  5:20 P.M.
