Dinnel moved and Reinke seconded that the following resolution be adopted:

 

RESOLUTION 02-038

RESOLUTION AWARDING QUOTE FOR REMOVAL OF FORMER CHURCH BUILDING AT MADISON AVENUE & 4th STREET

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Ortonville (“Council”) had previously solicited quotes for demolition and removal of the building located at the corner of 4th Street and Madison Avenue and known as the former Baptist church (“Project”), and

 

WHEREAS, Project quotes were received as follows: Ronglien Excavating $15,000.00; Sev’s Gravel & Excavating $9,500.00; Sev’s Gavel & Excavating (removing basement to three feet below grade) $8,500.00, and

 

WHEREAS, Project quotes have now been reviewed by the street committee and Council, and

 

WHEREAS, the quote of Sev’s Gravel & Excavating, Ortonville, Minnesota (“Sevs”) in the amount of $9,500.00 for has been determined by the Council to be the lowest responsible quote for Project.

 

WHEREAS, Council deems it beneficial to remove basement walls to three feet below grade.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council that:

 

1.    The quote of Sev’s in the amount of $8,500.00 is hereby accepted subject to execution of contract prepared by city attorney with funds to come from Light fund.

 

2.      That the Mayor and Clerk-Administrator be and are hereby authorized to execute necessary contract documents with Sev’s.

 

Upon roll call vote the following voted aye: Dinnel, Sellin, Arndt, Oakes, Berkner, Reinke, and the following voted nay: none.

 

Resolution 02-038 passed this 15th day of April 2002.
