Big Stone Writer's School

There is so much to learn about writing.  It records business transactions, and history, or present, projects our unknown future, the lives of people, and the wonders of nature around us.  It records scientific progress, and makes it known to the world.  The news reports current events, the terror or war, hurricanes, and floods the miracles of human life.  We cannot live without writing.  There is so much to learn.

Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide continuing education for writers in our rural region, enabling members to advance from avocation to occupation.  Open to all writers who want to improve their writing talent and market their work.

Goals:

To have an annual planned curriculum for writers at all skill levels

To have one or more intensive workshops each year for group and individual help in skills development.

bullet

To seek recognition opportunities via contests, special events and awards for our members.

bullet

To develop and maintain interactive, multi-generational relationships with school students and adults.

bullet

To become an accredited post secondary institution of higher learning in the humanities.
