The City of Ortonville website is intended for use by the general public as a convenient way to access the information and services provided by the City.  Efforts are made to ensure that the information presented is complete and accurate.  In general, you can be assured that the information on the Web site is accurate.  However, the information and services included in or available through the City of Ortonville’s website may include inaccuracies or typographical errors. Changes are periodically added to the information herein.    

Updates, additions or corrections may have been made to a Web page since the time you previously viewed it.  You may wish to confirm information, such as dates and meeting locations, immediately prior to the event, in case updates have been made.  In addition, if you are concerned about the accuracy of an item, you may contact the City Department that posted this information.

The website and information contained herein are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.  The City of Ortonville annually appoints an official newspaper and radio station for the purpose of providing legal/public notices as prescribed by law. 

For security purposes, and to maintain service for all users, the City’s network system may use software programs to identify attempts to gain unauthorized access or to damage or misuse the systems of the City’s website.  In the event that a potential security threat is recognized, identifying information about the user and the questionable computer actively may be retained and reviewed for security and other law-enforcement-related purposes.

• Public Utilities that serve the City of Ortonville
• Businesses physically located within the City of Ortonville
• Organizations providing information about employment opportunities in the Ortonville area
• Organizations providing economic development opportunity to businesses located with the City of Ortonville
• Organizations providing their own information about art, cultural, and sporting activities in the City's area

The City's website will not provide links to websites for:

• Candidates for local, state, or federal offices
• Political organizations or other organizations advocating a position on a local, state, or federal issue
• Corporate or other for-profit organizations unless they fit any of the criteria stated above
• The function of a public forum
• Individual or personal home pages

Those that fall within the allowed link description noted above and do not currently have a link on the City of Ortonville’s website shall make a request in writing to the Community Development Coordinator at 315 Madison Avenue South, Ortonville or at eda@ortonville.net

The written request shall describe the organization or entity’s mission.   

The city reserves sole and exclusive right to determine whether an organization or entity meets the  criteria, and whether to approve the link.  The determination of links shall be made by the Community Development Coordinator with the approval and review of the City Clerk Administrator.  An appeal to that determination may be filed in writing with the Office of the City Clerk Administrator within twenty (20) days of the determination.  Appeals shall be decided by the City Council within thirty (30) days of receipt of the written appeal.  All decisions of the City Council shall be final. 

General
The laws of the State of Minnesota, and the United States of America govern this agreement. If any part of this agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder of the agreement shall continue in effect.
