Heritage Preservation Commission

The Ortonville Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) implements the responsibilities of the city Historic Preservation Ordinance.  The Ortonville HPC consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor and City Council.

The Ortonville HPC is responsible for establishing, developing and implementing a City Historic Preservation Plan.  The HPC shall recommend to the City Council areas, buildings, districts or objects to be designated heritage preservation sites based on its character, interest or value as part of the development heritage or cultural characteristics of the city, the state, or the United States.

The HPC is currently working on the Ortonville Heritage Preservation Guide and cataloging the buildings on second street.
