Ortonville Economic
Development Workgroups
Working to Implement Ortonville’s Comprehensive Plan
·
Ortonville’s
City Council, Zoning & Planning Commission, EDA and Minnesota Housing
Partnership are working together to implement critical aspects of the 2002
Comprehensive Plan.
·
The goal is
to develop action plans that address Ortonville’s housing, commercial
development and city amenities.
·
Priorities
were identified from the 2002 Comprehensive Plan with a focus on
strategies that could be implemented in 2008.
Why
the 2002 Comprehensive Plan?
·
Ortonville’s
2002 Comprehensive Plan draws upon previous community efforts including
the 2003 Lakefront Development, 1999 Blandin & RCAP project, 1998 Big
Stone County Business Retention & Expansion Strategy and the 1998 Housing
Summary.
·
The City
Council adopted the Comprehensive Plan in 2002 which sets forth the needs
and priorities of the community moving forward.
·
The plan
serves as a guide to help preserve what the residents of Ortonville value
and to enhance what should be improved.
